ABJECT PAX East Coast Winter Tour

Thanks to everyone so far who has ordered a copy of the Abject Pax record and those who continue to order other things from us. We still have a few copies left for sale, but the pressing is starting to dwindle. Luckily, if you're too stubborn to pay a few bucks for shipping, Abject Pax is hitting the road soon to play some selected dates on the east coast of Canada / US and will have copies of the record with them. They will be playing all shows with the devastating hardcore assault known as Concrete Asylum who have also just released a killer record on Bad Vibrations records out of Toronto. Do yourself a favor, check out these bands and buy some stuff from them on tour! Venues and other info has yet to be confirmed, so keep checking back as we will update this when we get more info...

ABJECT PAX - s/t 7" OUT NOW!

So after a few months of waiting, we're happy to announce that the Abject Pax ep is DONE and OUT NOW! We're very happy with how this turned out and copies have already started to head out quick. You can order it by following the link to the SHOP above. The debut ep featuring 5 songs of UK influenced anarcho punk. Highly anticipated and vicious stuff that follows up their devastating tape released last year, these tracks aren't too far off from the likes of The System, Icons Of Filth or Part 1. Comes with lyric booklet including the artwork of vocalist Adam Kindred. Featuring current and former members of Contagium and Life Chain. This pressing is limited to 480 copies and as per usual, please get in touch if you'd like to distribute or order copies wholesale. Abject Pax are headed up to play NOT DEAD YET fest this weekend in Toronto and will have copies with them there. Be sure to go see them as well as some of the other killer Halifax bands playing like Napalm Raid, Life Chain and Concrete Asylum!

For those who are wondering who won the test press, it was actually Robert Smith of Florida, (not from the Cure), so you can expect that showing up with your record this week sometime. Thanks to everyone who pre-ordered this time around and we'll be hoping to do something similar in the near future for the next release!

I should also note that we have some great distro stuff that has been randomly being posted in the shop, most of which is being ordered in limited numbers. New singles and eps from Radioactivity, the #1s, DIE, Life Chain, DIAT, Harper SS and more. Pick up a few extras and get more bang for your buck on shipping costs.

Finally, thanks to the people who have been helping out the past month or two with the Abject Pax ep. Without the help of Abject Pax, Whitney Moran, Gord Dufresne, Jeff Fedge, Brett Wagg, Sarah Hecimovich and everyone who pre-ordered, this project would have been destined to crash and burn.

Thanks for the support,
DB

Abject Pax 7" pre-order / Test Press "give-a-way"...

Slower than a sloth, we're progressing over here at HQ with a bit of news. The Abject Pax EP is almost done and is up for pre-order now, which can be easily found and ordered by following the link to the shop listed above. The tests for this sound huge and I'm beyond happy with how this is turning out thus far.

To go along with the release, we've decided to give away one of the 8 test presses pictured above to one of the few who pre-orders the record. All you have to do is order now and wait until the record comes out in a couple weeks. Pretty simple for simple punx. I'll cut the cord on the pre-orders and contest a week before the record comes out and announce the lucky schmuck shortly after. People in Halifax who don't want to go through the hassle of paying the shipping costs through the store but would still like to get in on the chance for the test can paypal $5.50 to slothcore(ATAT)hotmail.com and once the record is out, can pick it up from me locally. You have your instructions.

Things are slowly coming together on the Abject Pax record and with any luck, we'll have it ready to ship at the start of October. Its a bit off from what we were originally hoping for, but that's the way it normally goes when things come up and life gets in the way. We still haven't seen the final art for it yet either, but from the sounds of it, it should look great when it's all done. Things are still on point.

Oh hi.

Though not particularly impressive yet, we've decided to take the time to set up a blog / site to provide all the same info that we've been spouting off on Facebook to everyone who's not following on there. This is a work in progress, so please bear with us as we attempt to construct some sort of web presence in between back shifts and numerous cups of coffee.

Dyscontrol - Lies b/w Calling Back (SWCR-007) is selling steadily and is still available for ordering and wholesale, so get in touch if you are interested in getting copies. The band has some local shows here in Halifax coming up, including a pair of shows with Outtacontroller at the end of August and an appearance at the Halifax Pop Explosion this year.

Abject Pax's debut 7" (SWCR-008) has just finished being mastered and should hopefully be off to the pressing plant before the week is out. For those who aren't familiar with them, their tape (http://abjectpax.bandcamp.com/) was not only one of the best I had heard last year but one of my favorite local releases in many years. This is vicious stuff, live and recorded, that takes cues from groups like The System or Icons Of Filth and demonstrates the seething anger that punk should have. Featuring some fantastic art from vocalist Adam Kindred with an accompanying booklet, this should be a killer ep once it's all been put together. Hoping to have this out by the end of September, so keep checking back for info.

That's all for now. Thanks for the support.
